Biography

Ahmad Jafarian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Supply Chain, Purchasing & Project Management at Excelia Business School, a position he has held since September 2025. He earned a joint Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management from Rennes School of Business (France) and Quantitative Logistics from Linköping University (Sweden), where his doctoral research focused on mass evacuation and humanitarian logistics planning. His research lies at the intersection of operations management and supply chain optimization, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, humanitarian logistics, and circular economy applications. His recent projects investigate strategies for disaster preparedness as well as circular economy practices in fast fashion and furniture products. Methodologically, his expertise includes mathematical programming, stochastic optimization, and game theory. In addition to his research, he actively serves as a reviewer for leading journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Computers & Operations Research, and Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review. Since 2024, he has also been a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review.
